Three things, on every device you enrol.

I

Websites

A site in a category you turned on is refused before the request leaves the device. Search on Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo and YouTube is held in its restricted mode.

Content inside apps

An app the filter cannot see into can be blocked whole. So can the second browser a child installs to get around the first.

Channels and creators

On YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Twitch. A channel in a category you turned on is blocked inside the app and kept out of the recommendations.

Categories

Ten categories of internet.

Each one is set per device, not per account. The kitchen tablet and the school phone can carry different rules.

  • Explicit sexual contentPornography sites, the adult tier of a general site, accounts that exist to post it.
  • Nudity and sexualised imageryShort of explicit. Thumbnail-bait, and channels whose subject is a body rather than a topic.
  • Content that sexualises childrenChannels built on children's bodies and the audience that gathers around them.
  • GamblingBetting and casino sites, tipsters, and the gambling that does not call itself that: crate openings, pack pulls.
  • Rapid-cut editingContent edited to defeat attention. Sub-second cuts, a second video underneath, a sting on every beat.
  • Confident pseudoscienceChannels that present refuted claims as suppressed truth, in any field.
  • Flat-earther archetypePeople who never studied a subject and lecture on it anyway, with total certainty. The less they know, the surer they sound.Learn more
  • Get-rich-quick and course sellingTrading courses, paid mentorships, affiliate funnels, and the rented-Lamborghini genre that feeds them.
  • Contempt-based adviceAdvice to a young man built on contempt for women, and its mirror image aimed at young women.
  • Haram contentWhat this switch covers is still being decided. No two households mean the same set by it.
    • Pseudo-Islam by the Epstein classIslam rewritten to fit Western agendas and sold back to Muslims as the reasonable version. "RAND Muslims" from the 2007 moderate-networks playbook, "modern" Islam, Ghamidism, pink Islam, and any preacher who drops a ruling once it costs a sponsor.Learn more
